it is his face smiling; big and bright, full of teeth and more rows of teeth than izaya is sure he has—he checked in the mirror this morning back home—and then the lips split open and izaya hates it here as he stumbles back and loses his footing.

fortunately (unfortunately) this means he goes careening into the nearest person and full body slams them. if they're strong they could probably keep them both upright, but if they're not, there is about to be a pile of people on the floor, limbs entangled. ]

[ he has been contently swinging his legs and watching a variety of people like a fly on the wall but then apparently it is time for action. to get to work or something, and izaya objectively understands they are here for a reason and it is likely that once their usefulness runs out they'll be sent out an airlock.

izaya stands in front of the map, studying it closely in an attempt to memorize it. he'll need somewhere safe to record the information but for now his memory will suffice, and he is categorically refusing to get onto a ship to go anywhere.

his legs ache so he won't get far enough to be useful. maybe, swallowing his pride at the start and asking for help would've been the move.
