Noctis Lucis Caelum | FFXV

Initiate A

[ An urge to rebel against the order to strap in for the first half hour of their journey is only outstripped – in complementary fashion – by his want to see those engines and ascertain their brightness for himself. It's for the best that he's not allowed, lest he blind himself on day one, but when they're allowed to move again he's nevertheless already trying to navigate corridors to take him towards the source of that powerful hum.

It's when he enters a passage with those thick, reinforced windows all along one side that he's distracted from his vain mission. The x'enuda are distant at first but unmissable, beautiful, dazzling, and slowly winding their way closer to congregate around the ship.
]

Hey... are you seeing this? [ Immediately he turns to the other occupant of the corridor, warm light washing over them from the creatures outside. And soon to be inside. ]

Initiate B

[ It should be an opportunity for some downtime before they're to be called to the docking bay for assignment, and perhaps for most Wayfarers it is. You just happened to choose the wrong hallway to take, for a diversion, shortcut, or the love of exploration.

And at first the sound in the distance is faint, just a metallic ringing that echoes through one wall. But as you get closer it becomes louder and more distinct. It's not a machination of the ship, but rather a distinct banging of something against a nearby sealed door.
]

Hey!

[ The shout is muffled but just barely audible if you get close enough, the final confirmation that this is absolutely someone's conscious effort to escape... what, a supply closet? A service duct? ]

Get me out of here!

Foreword

[ Finally, some direction.

Maybe once they press onward he'll get some more detailed answers, even if right now falling back out of a "quantum accident" is sounding less and less likely.

A desire for forward motion does not translate into any great desire to work, however, and with the aim of keeping most of his focus instead on getting out of here, he makes a hasty decision. The "Support" badge and equipment is swiped up with the assumption that it'll allow him to play a bit part, almost immediately then stepping away from the crowd to instead examine his new belongings in the shadow of one of the ships nearest the corner.

A field kit.

He's no medic but studies and life experience have at least left him able to identify its main purpose. But the multitool? That grabs more of his attention. The pliers and nail file are finagled with, once again recognized... but then he comes across a new functionality, staring down at a softened pen-point attachment. A shake does nothing to activate it, nor does a brush of a thumb over its surface, but when he turns it away from him he does see a soft button at its base.

Which he presses.

And which immediately activates the tiny laser that engraves a lovely new streak right over the side-nose of the ship he's standing next to.

A quick glance left and right for witnesses has him them locking eyes with another Wayfarer, silent.
