INTRO
Hello, current and prospective Wayfarers, welcome to an App This Please/Enable Me Please meme for THEOREM! We are a sci-fi exploration game that focuses on mini-plot arcs of exploring planets, chasing after mysterious space gods, and getting to know the wayward peoples of this piece of space.
THE BASICS
The next event will be a TDM on March 3rd, with reserves opening on the 12th, and applications opening on the 17th. Please bear in mind that this is in NZT, so for people on the other side of the world, these dates will be one day ahead of your calendar. For this TDM, the Wayfarers have just concluded the exploration of their first planet, a desert of golden sands and bizarre glass structures, culminating in finding a pilgrimage caravan traveling to a mysterious temple. As they travel to the next planet, this next TDM will be a holographic fancy ball, thrown by a circle of crewless ship's AI's. Some basics:.
✦ THEOREM is invite only. Anybody friends with the mod on plurk will have an automatic invite, and current members can invite one person per month. As the game is still relatively new, there is a method to ask the mod for an invite even if you don't know anybody currently in the game. You must have an invite before reserving or applying.
✦ There is currently no player cap, and the current population is a little under 30 players. There may be a player cap added in the future.
✦ Characters must be 18+ to apply. The canon needs to be at least one month old before character application. For more information on what types of characters are welcome to apply, please check out the FAQ!
✦ All characters arrive nerfed, without their weapons, items, and powers. There is a regain system to get these things back, however! Characters can also purchase and customize a personal spaceship.

About This Character: (this is so dependent on a canon review but-)
Aerith is a 22 y/o flower seller (and child science experiment escapee) who has lived in the Sector 7 slums of the technological center of the world, Midgar. She lives with her afoptive mother and is a flower selller with a unique connection to the Planet, which has made her a point of interest for the energy conglomerate and all around bad guys, Shinra Inc.
Aerith's a ray of sunshine, an optimist and (troublemaker) free spirit with an independent streak. Secretly she struggles with feelings of isolation due to her lineage as the last of the Cetra.
Extra Info: again canon review dependent but I'm thinking Tarnished Az-Mehet or The Empty Machine for her Edict? Possibly The Last Pilgrim depending on canonpoint... and she's a shoe in for Medical.

About This Character: Five Pebbles is an Iterator, a giant semi-organic supercomputer made to solve the problem of ascension and finding a way out of the eternal cycle of life, death and reincarnation by his creators.
The problem is that his creators found a way to ascend some time ago and left him (and the other Iterators) running around in circles forever until they die, trapped in the very selfsame cycle they escaped, and that has kinda done a fucking psychological number on him as you can imagine, to the point he almost killed a fellow Iterator through excessive water use on his part by trying to circumvent a specific taboo written into his own organic cells. When she intervened out of desperation to save her own life, he lost control of the process and basically gave himself a horrible rot malfunction which he's now slowly dying from. He is mostly just pissed off at his shit situation all the time but still able to be somewhat polite despite this.
So obviously he needs more tasks to perform in a completely different place, what could go wrong with that!
I'd need to figure out the situation with his can; the face that appears in icons is kind of a puppet he uses to speak to people normally, and ngl i think it'd be really fucking funny if he still had this setup but the can was just much smaller and he could walk around with it, like the world's most horrid centaur. Iterators can be reduced to just their puppets though so maybe he could just be stuck with just the puppet and be even more angry about everything.
As for Edicts, tossing up between Empty Machine or Tarnished Az-Mehet. Crew positions, probably Science/Engineering or Support. He needs something to do with his hands so to speak that isn't just endlessly ruminating on a futile ascension problem while he slowly decays, research/archiving would remind him of that too much

About This Character: In essence, Lucy is the spirit of human progress. Her true form is a single piston from the world's first steam engine, which the robotic body simply serves as housing for. The latter was created by Laplace, an organization formerly headed by her. Their principal goal at the time was working on a means to save civilization from "The Storm," a planet-wide weather phenomenon that reverses time.

Character: Bea Valentine
Canon: Original Character
About This Character: A "Seraphim Knight" from a far future world where humans have expanded throughout the galaxy and beyond. Being part of the Knights mean she's part of a peace-keeping order trying to maintain the hard won peace her parents' generation have fought so hard for. But Bea's listless and being a Knight just feels like being a security guard when there's nothing challenging to fight. Inheriting Mjolnir from her parental figures as a sign of them passing the torch, it made Bea want to become like those before her even more, to be the world's protector while also have her own heroic legacy.
But trouble brews in the edge of the known cosmos. An unseen and unknown threat is rapidly moving in, shutting down frontier planets and destroying any sort of military resistance thrown at it. Rightfully afraid, the governments of all life-bearing worlds have assembled teams of volunteers to research this threat. Bea, her fellow Knights, and other like-minded individuals form a team to the edge of the cosmos to find out what this is.
An even-tempered goofball at heart, Bea lives to fight and seek new horizons to both save people and to make a name for herself.

About This Character: Reader's Digest version of Genshin Impact (lmao, god help me): Lumine and her brother Aether are outlanders from space whose world was destroyed. they were sent on a spaceship to find a world suitable for them! but something dumped them on Teyvat and they got stuck there. An unknown god (the shade of space) trapped them there and now she's on a quest to stop her brother from whatever he's planning on doing ON TOP OF stopping Teyvat's villains from destroying it and making friends and solving Teyvat's problems along the way. whew.
Because she's a traveler from another world, she's pretty much a perfect fit for this game. lol. help me i haven't even TDMed yet.

About This Character: fruhling is the general of a creepy dog-monster army and reports directly to a mad scientist hottie that lives deep underground. she was also once an experimental soldier herself. therefore, she is extremely weird and traumatized but good luck ever getting that out of her unfortunately. because once again i don't know how to write people who talk about themselves.
by temperament, fruhling is very dry/aloof but has moments of wit and spiciness when her anger or other emotions are at play. she's technically a superpowered swordswoman, but lacks the ability to heal herself like her experimental dog-adjacent siblings? cousins?— i don't know how to describe this ancient canon any better than that. she hates a man.

About This Character: sometimes you're a regular guy but sometimes you're an interdimensional life form created in the age of human space exploration/expansion, and who can destroy cities and blow up the moon. you really don't want to but it happens anyway because you're narratively doomed to live and suffer but trigun at heart is a hopecore story, please im begging u 2 believe me
tl;dr, vash is an overly optimistic guy who believes that there is always a way to save everybody equally. a lot of the times he doesn't actually succeed but if you keep preaching the ideals long enough it might work?

he hates: murder, wanton violence, himself.
edict wise im leaning to tarnished az-mehet, sorrowweld or the last pilgrim, depending on the canonpoint! division wise he'd be good at security, but a jack of all trades support role would also suit him too since he'd love to stick his nose in where he's wanted (or NOT wanted but in a batman way where you're actually needed)

Canon: Original Character
About This Character: Elcin a doctor, first and foremost. He studied extensively at the university of Ekasas, graduating top of his class. He was quick to be brought on at Televiv Enterprises as part of their research and development team under the guidance of Hildar Reinr for medicinal research. His focus had been on disease that spreads between species and how it develops. The Flu, as an example, is one such disease that came with humans once they were space bound. With its ever changing nature, he’s developed a few vaccines to combat a majority of the symptoms associated, though eradication is far off.
He’s a bit short tempered, easily frustrated, but deep down he’s a gentle giant. His passion is helping people and he stands by his work at Televiv. The one thing that seems to get him in trouble the most is that he is Rachni — basically a humanoid spider. Relations between the rachni and greater universe have been strained (especially with humans) due to the Lqee Station Incident. No one truly knows how it started but there was a loss of life on both sides that resulted in the station’s collapse. Ultimately the rachni had to pay for what is being called a transgression, but many think they got off too easy.
Extra Info: He’d likely continue his work in Medical Research and Archives, and may bond with either Malfunction VII or the Empty Machine. I haven’t quite decided just yet.

Canon: Granblue Fantasy
About This Character: A grumpy, fluffy wolfy doctor-- the kind of doctor you can apply that meme to, you know the one. He's that kind of guy, and in fact uses a gun he cocks in combat, wow! (I haven't seen that meme with him specifically but I need it to happen one day.) But I digress.
He's a very young guy, but has extreme Old Man Energy due to experiencing so much trauma, a nasty life in the mafia, and is fresh out of a coma that he's still feeling the effects from, such as sight and mobility issues. Very no-nonsense, and if you do dumb things in front of him, he's going to give you a very stern "Dad is Disappointed" look. I say "dad" specifically because he is indeed a dad (adoptive but still). And honorary uncle to a whole town of children.
Extra Info: Medical is a given, he's both an actual pharmacist and doctor, and a magical healer. I'm also considering The Fathomless for him, we shall see what my final decision is.
I'm also very tentative since I'm still recovering from severe burnout but I wanted to be here.
